Wes Hutto is a political scientist and Associate Professor of Strategy and Security Studies.

He teaches courses on international security, classical military theory, and emerging technologies and military innovation at the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS). He is also a Research Fellow at the Modern War Institute - West Point, and a non-resident senior fellow at the Cornell Brooks Tech Policy Institute. He is a recipient of the 2024 Christopher Coker Prize for best paper in strategic studies.

Dr. Hutto's research interests include drone warfare and its intersection with International Relations and International Relations theory, regional powers and comparative regional security, military strategy, and multinational military exercises.

His work appears in various international relations and security journals, including the European Journal of International Security, International Politics, and Defence Studies. His co-authored textbook, is titled Understanding International Security: Theory and Practice and out with Cambridge University Press, and he has two co-edited volumes, Rethinking Remote Warfare (Palgrave), and The Three Body Problem and International Relations (University Press of Florida).
